Improbable Island Message of the Day (MoTD)

So I've got this friend.

Her name's Jamie, and she's an awesome person and an awesome writer. She attends the writers' group I go to, and one day I was critiquing one of her Flash pieces and remarked that it'd be a really good idea to write a whole bunch of these and then post them on the Internet, say three times a week, and ask for donations. Hell, it'd worked for me, I'm sure people would love to read her stuff and give her money, even if it is just fiction and not tied into a game. And I've got an audience of six thousand or so people who I'm sure would love to see what she has to say - that'd be enough eyeballs to start her on her way to popularity.

Jamie - for reason or reasons unknown - actually listened to me. That's a good way to get yourself into trouble, is that. We hadn't been friends for long at the time, so she hadn't yet realised what happens when people actually listen to the sort of silly bollocks I come up with.

So, a little while ago Jamie comes up to me and says "You're a web designer, right?"

"I'm trying not to be. Why?"

"Well, remember you said I should post my stuff online..."

So, lured by her bartering offers, I ended up briefly coming out of retirement from the web design game (the Island, obviously, being my full-time job these days) and making the pinkest website I've ever made.

So. Jamie's an excellent writer, and has the publishing credits to prove it. I've made her a website. You should go and read all her stories and maybe tip her a couple of bucks.

Because, um... if you don't, then I'm gonna look like a complete plonker.

Jamie Lackey's website!
